Junior Certificate School Programme (JCSP) activities provide fun and interactive additional supports to students pursuing Junior Cycle. Students take Junior Cycle exams but are provided with increased support in literacy and numeracy and are involved in activities to improve attendance and make school more engaging.
The programme centres around:
- Learning Targets and Statements for students
- Celebrations of student's work and achievement
- In-school activities that enhance learning such as Writer in Residence Creative Writing Workshops, Drop Everything and Read, Celebrity Chef, Film Making
- School outings to Art Galleries, Museums, Exhibitions, Adventure Sports
Students and teachers track progress over the 3 years in the programme and before sitting Junior Cycle examinations students receive an individual Profile of Achievement outlining accomplishments, skills and knowledge from their involvement in JCSP.
